Update 7/18/07: The Burning Book website -- complete with more details/images/bedlam/tour dates than you can shake a flaming stick at -- just went live at www.burningbook.net. Update 1/10/07: I'm all aflutter over the Burning Book cover, which just went live on Simon & Schuster's Web site. It was designed by Michael Nagin, featuring photography by Jared Mechaber and typography from Martin Venezky. In my humble-yet-biased opinion, it's rather fetching! Update 10/19/06: Just got back from Portland; house-finding mission accomplished!
p.s. So long as we're speaking of Oregon, why not nerd out with online comics based on the beloved edutainment classic, Oregon Trail? Or enjoy the game in its original splendor (note: Internet Explorer only -- blagh). Of course, I'm not doing any of this. I am diligently packing my belongings.
(addendum 9/9/06: Today one of Dorothy Trojanowski's Rubber Horses, which were all the rage at Burning Man in 2005, rolled down Wooster Street in the Deitch Projects Art Parade. I got there just in time to watch people admire it at the end of the route. Then I helped D and two other ladies -- three of us workin' in skirts, mind you -- pry the rebar beastie apart and load it into the van, where Petey was lolling in wait....) Earlier updates and pics now live here.
